LAHORE: The schedule of arrival of teams in Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 has been confirmed ahead of the tournament’s opener between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan on August 30.
After conclusion of the ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka, Pakistan will arrive in Multan tomorrow.
Nepal’s cricket team, which is currently training in Karachi, will also touch down in Multan tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s cricket team will reach Lahore on Monday, August 28, through a commercial flight from Colombo.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka’s team will reach Lahore on Friday, September 1, via a chartered flight.
It must be remembered that four matches of the Asia Cup are scheduled to be played in the country between August 30 and September 6. While the first of these will take place in Multan, the remaining three are scheduled for the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The 2023 Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka between August 30 and September 17.
Pakistan are in Group A alongside Nepal and India. Meanwhile, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are in Group B.
Top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023.
Pakistan will remain A1 and India will remain A2. If either of them (India and Pakistan) don't qualify for Super 4s, then Nepal will take their position.
Sri Lanka will remain B1 and Bangladesh will remain B2. If either of them (Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) don't qualify for Super 4s, then Afghanistan will take their position.
